The Kualama Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the ancestral wisdom, rich traditions, and vibrant cultural heritage of indigenous communities, particularly the tribes of the Sierra Nevada in Colombia, who are the guardians of the Spirit of the Heart of the Earth. The term Kualama, which means the filter between the spiritual and physical worlds, guides our mission to cultivate a deep relationship of reciprocity between humanity and the Earth. We honor the sacred principle that what we offer to the Earth, the Earth returns to us. Our mission transcends mere restoration; it is about igniting a collective consciousness that acknowledges the interconnectedness of all life. By having the Indigenous Tribes share their stories, practices, and insights derived from their wisdom, we aspire to spark a global movement towards cultivating a relationship with the Earth.
We build bridges between indigenous traditions and the modern world by advocating for environmental sustainability, cultural empowerment, and social equity through community-driven initiatives. Our efforts include land reclamation, the construction of sacred temples, educational programs, and the facilitation of spiritual offerings that aim at reconciling humanity. We are also dedicated to the return of sacred indigenous artifacts and to bringing community leaders to the Sierra Nevada, where they can reconnect with the profound wisdom of Mother Earth, as these Indigenous Tribes are eager to share their precious teachings.
The Kualama Foundation is devoted to ensuring that the sacred traditions and spiritual work of these tribes continue, for the benefit of all life on Earth, while addressing the challenges of today. We are committed to restoring balance, honoring the natural cycles of giving and receiving, and supporting the harmonious coexistence of all living beings during this pivotal moment of planetary change.
